Instead of being ashamed or embarrassed of your teeth, we invite you to liberate your smile with a full mouth reconstruction.

What is Full Mouth Reconstruction?

A full mouth restoration is needed when the teeth have become severely worn down resulting in the potential for painful teeth, loss of teeth and jaw joint problems. Often in these patients, their teeth no longer touch optimally during chewing. To correct the size and position of the teeth with full mouth restoration, we place a combination of crowns, onlays and veneers on all the teeth to place the bite in its optimal position.

Who is a Candidate for Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Most individuals who require this treatment fall into four categories: 1) Those who have had clenching or grinding habits that have resulted in short, worn down teeth that has altered the optimal position of the bite. Often, these individuals with have front teeth that have chipped and cracked. 2) To correct the problems associated with deep bites, over bites and cross bites. 3) To help alleviate pain in patients with r debilitating jaw joint symptoms. 4) To provide a cosmetic change for patients with severely worn front teeth, a full mouth restoration is needed to correct the size, length, and proportions of the teeth to predictably restore their smile. Many times, these individuals have had a long history of dental problems.

How does Dr. Van Slate do a Full Mouth Reconstruction?

The most important factor in a full mouth restoration is finding an individual’s proper bite position. To accomplish this, we use K-7 computer technology. With this break- through technology, we can now predictably find a person’s optimal bite position. One where the muscles, joints and teeth that support the jaw are at a ideal synchronized position. This technology helps to eliminate any guesswork when finding a person’s ideal bite position.

Once we have found the optimal bite position, the patient will usually wear an orthotic for at least 3 months to verify that the bite position is comfortable. After the orthotic has been worn, the actual work on the teeth can often be done in as little as 2 visits (one month apart).
