Our Diagnostic Technology
In order to provide you with the most effective treatment, Dr. Van Slate first must understand the exact causes of your concerns. Depending on your needs, we can utilize a range of tools to perform a detailed diagnosis and then develop a highly personalized treatment plan. These tools include:
We feature digital dental x-rays because they are superior to traditional film types in virtually every way. Not only do they involve less radiation exposure, but digital x-rays also produce a clearer image that can be viewed instantly. Furthermore, each of our treatment rooms is equipped with a computer monitor, so you can view your x-rays while Dr. Van Slate explains the specifics of your diagnosis.
Cone Beam Scans
We can utilize cone beam computed tomography scans to create 3-D images of oral structures. This technology is particularly beneficial when working with dental implants patients. If you are considering this advanced treatment, we will use cone beam imaging to evaluate the strength of your jaw and determine if a bone grafting procedure may be necessary to help you qualify.
iTero® Intraoral Scanner
This small digital scanner helps to eliminate the need for messy, foul-tasting putty impressions. If you will be receiving a custom restoration, we can use the iTero® device to create a detailed 3-D image of your tooth. The image can be uploaded to a CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) machine or sent to an off-site dental lab.
DIAGNOdent® Cavity Detection
The DIAGNOdent® Cavity Detection device uses laser technology to help us spot minor forms of decay that may go unseen by the naked eye. When tooth decay is spotted at its earliest stages, it can typically treated with conservative, minimally invasive methods.
Advances in dental technology have allowed Dr. Van Slate to achieve optimal results with minimized discomfort and recovery times.
K7 Evaluation System
The K7 Evaluation System precisely measures a patient’s ideal jaw position. Dr. Van Slate uses the data from the K7 to determine a patient’s ideal bite position when designing a custom oral appliance or developing a full mouth reconstruction treatment plan.
Our Treatment Technology
Advances in dental technology have allowed Dr. Van Slate to achieve optimal results with minimized discomfort and recovery times. Our practice is equipped with a range of cutting-edge treatment technology, including:
Anutra Local Anesthetic Delivery System
Rather than using a traditional syringe to administer local anesthesia, we use the Anutra system. This innovative tool makes the anesthesia process more comfortable and patients typically become numb much faster.
This device uses air to rid teeth and soft tissues of bacteria above and below the gum line. AIR-FLOW® PERIO is gentler than traditional metal cleaning tools and treatment times are greatly minimized.
Diode Soft-tissue Laser
Soft-tissue diode lasers have revolutionized how periodontal procedures are performed. Dr. Van Slate can use our diode laser to perform cosmetic gum contouring, laser gum treatments, and more without the need for a scalpel or stitches.
MicrO2™ Sleep Apnea Devices
This device is used to help patients who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) find relief from symptoms. We choose to feature MicrO2™ Sleep Apnea Devices because they are highly effective, comfortable to wear, and easy to adjust. Worn while you sleep, the device will help to keep airways open for clear, uninterrupted breathing.
